- Sam Taylor is an American, born in Walsenburg, Colorado in 1940. His studies have included the University of Southern Colorado, where he received a B.A. degree in sculpture and creative writing. He has also studied at the Art Students league, New York and at the San Francisco Art Institute, and has studied painting with Orlin Helgoe of Pueblo, Colorado. Sam Taylor has shown in over eighty juried and invitational shows, including the All Colorado Biannual, the New Mexico Biannual, the Denver Art Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
He is represented in several private collections in the United States, France, The German Republic, Bulgaria and Japan. Public collections, include the Harwood Museum of Art, Taos, New Mexico, Whitney Museum, Getty Oil Company, Rocky Mountain Oil Company, Gulf Western, Wichita State University, University of Southern Colorado, First National Bank Of Walsenburg, Colorado, City Of Walsenburg, Heritage Park Collection and The Old Jail Foundation, Albany, Texas.
